With the progress and development of technology, CNC custom machining has become increasingly important. CNC custom machining has a variety of materials to choose from. The influencing factors include machinable type, strength, weight, outer center, the degree of corrosion resistance, etc.
What materials can be used for CNC custom machining?
It is crucial to choose the most suitable material according to the product’s processing conditions and the planned industrial applications. For example, titanium alloy is ideal for custom machining of parts with high mechanical performance requirements; aluminum alloy 6061 or Derlin are more suitable for custom machining of speed wire parts.
Aluminum is the most widely used material due to its moderate price, ease of processing, and superior strength to weight ratio. 6061 aluminum alloy is a high-quality aluminum alloy product produced by heat treatment pre-stretching process, with excellent processing performance, excellent welding characteristics and plating, good corrosion resistance, high toughness, and no deformation after processing, dense material without defects and easy to polish, easy to color film, excellent oxidation, etc.

2. CNC custom machining tools
As we’ve just seen, CNC custom machining involves products of different types, shapes, and materials, so you need to choose the right tool and tool holder for processing.
Choosing the right tools is based on the following principles: ease of installation, the stability of fixtures, durability, and, most importantly, precision. There are often very specific tools that are best suited to certain stages of the CNC milling process; for example, peripheral contours of the flat parts often require end mills, and the milling plane should include a carbide insert milling cutter; or when processing tabs and recesses high-speed steel end mills are better choices.
3. CNC custom processing methods
Different CNC machining center models have different custom processing methods; some stroke larger machining centers are suitable for processing molds, some are suitable for processing larger metal workpieces. In contrast, some CNC machining centers are suitable for processing small hardware parts.
